Stephanie Perkins writes excellent characters, they feel like real people, not "the imaginary boyfriend"
The characters have flaws, like normal people; Stephanie creates characters that you can really relate too and understand, because you know how they feel and what they are going through. When Lola was creating her prom dress (not a huge spoiler) you could see (i mean read) that she was having a hard time and the stress that she was having to pull the dress together (not literally!) On the night of the prom she breaks down and you can see that she really wanted everything to be perfect! Me, being a perfectionist and having a lot of anxiety attacks, I could really relate to how she was feeling. You know when you put a lot of pressure on yourself and when you want the whole thing to come together you just lose it, kind of go crazy. moving on from the insecurity of Lola; her fathers -yes- gay. Nathan and Andy have flaws as well and it is really cute that Nathan from a lawyer loves Andy a baker, and you see that because Lola is different, fashion wise, they think it is because of the whole 'having to fathers' to prove that you are not a tomboy sort of thing. Criket -he is the prince charming to this novel. He doesn't have an ego, which I absolutely loved about cricket, not saying that I like my men to be insecure about themselves, but down to earth. Other than Lola; Cricket has issues too. One more thing, I LOVED how you Anna and Etienne were in this story too, they're life after Anna and the French Kiss. love Stephanie Perkins RATE: 10/10 Where do I start?
St. Clair... Anna and the French Kiss is absolute amazing! It is girly and it just makes you feel good inside. You know what I mean; that bubbly, joyful moment when you do something amazing (or in this case read something amazing!) I'll definitely be reading this book every time is fall into my "Book Mourning Period" The characters are enjoyable. Ha. Better than enjoyable you'll absolutely love them; and with the loveable storyline it is PERFECT! It is relatable to moi (me), because I have confidant issues and I struggle adapting to new experiences and my first day of high school was hell, and saying that I knew a lot of people from my primary school, but for Anna I would totally freak out, not only is she moving schools but moving to a foreign country, I think not! I learnt french in year 8 and I still don't know how to say "where's the bookstore" -.- I finished the book in two days that how good it was (Fangirl Moment) In my "Little Bubble" throughout the whole book!
